Circle Group "Vacation" and a new VIRTUAL circle

I will be taking the holiday months of November, December & January to re-focus my efforts on how to best promote cloth diapers within Waldo County. I have started a "virtual circle" at http://waldocountyrda.ning.com. I hope you will join me there and help spead the word about cloth diapers!

New Day & Time

The RDA will now be meeting the first Sunday of each month at 1 PM at Morningstar Midwifery on High St. in Belfast! I hope this will allow more people the opportunity to come. The next meeting is on Sunday October 4 at 1 PM.
I will continue to provide a snack and children are always welcome & enjoy playing with the toys there.
I will also be promoting the RDA circle meetings at the Belfast Baby Fair on Saturday. Hope to see you soon!

Show & Tell on August 13 was fun & informative!

Thank you to the attendant of the August 13th Waldo County Real Diaper Association Circle Meeting! We showed each other diapers from home and talked about our likes & dislikes.
Other topics included:

Cleaning
Sizing
Sewing diapers and soakers at home
Functionality of fleece diaper covers
Hook and loop (velcro) wear
Elastic wear
Daycare liscensing requirements with cloth diapers
Outreach to increase attendance at future meetings

Next Meeting August 13

July 9th was the first nice summer day in about a month, so I was not suprised when no one wanted to come inside for an RDA meeting. Our next meeting will be on August 13. I have small door prizes and am hoping to have a suprise guest speaker! Hope to see you there.

Next Meeting July 9th

Everyone is welcome! We would love to help find solutions for any barriers you have to using cloth and to share stories. We plan to have a diaper show & tell, so bring your favorite (or not so favorite) diapers and share what has worked for you!
Some other topics we plan to discuss at the next meeting include:

Stains & wash routines
Durability of diaper components (elastic, velcro, etc.)

A Successful first meeting!

Thank you to those who attended the first Belfast Real Diaper Association meeting! It was wonderful getting to know you and your beautiful cloth diapered babies & toddlers. We agreed to meet the second Thursday of every month at 11 am. If you are interested in participating in an RDA meeting, but cannot attend during this time, please send me an email.
